It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
