Several Hurt as Rough Air Impacts Delta Aircraft into Sydney

A number of individuals were hurt following a Delta Airlines flight originating in LA to Sydney encountered rough air this past Friday.

The flight, numbered 41 "experienced a brief period of turbulence" as it landed at the Sydney airport, a company official stated. Several cabin crew members were injured.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service reported they assessed five individuals, and transported a trio to a medical facility with relatively minor issues that such as spinal discomfort and head pain. The injured spanned from their 30s up to the 70s.

This marks the latest incident of commercial jets being hit by severe turbulence, with experts pointing out that shifting climate patterns is a major factor.

On board were 245 people and 15 crew members on the wide-body jet, the representative said, adding that the plane landed "safely and normally" at Sydney Airport at 06:48 local time on Friday.

The NSW Ambulance Service reported they received a call just three minutes ahead of the plane arrived, and response teams were waiting on the tarmac.
